Swans appeared in Zelenograd pond Bykovo
There appeared swans in Bykovo pond (1st microdistrict) again. This time they’re not white, they are black. They were brought from Germany and were kept in quarantine on the occasion of bird flu epidemic cases. Our birds were found healthy, and they fitted in in the new place quite successfully. A zootechnician was appointed to look after them.

Marathon race
On Sunday, August, 24, 2008 at 3:30 in the morning right on the same minute with Marathon race at the XXIX Olympic games a Marathon race in Zelenograd started too. Round 400 runners from Russia and 6 foreign countries participated in the distance.

The Republic of Singapore delegation in Zelenograd

The Republic of Singapore delegation headed by trade and industry minister of state Li Yi Shyen visited Zelenograd. The visit was made in the framework of the Special Economic Zones associate management committee session which took place in Moscow. The minister being the committee co-chairman expressed his wish to visit our city where techno-promotional SEZ “Zelenograd” is under construction.

Two First Nights

This spring Zelenograd drama theatre “Vedogon-theatre” showed 2 premieres. Both opening nights were a sell-out and favorably reviewed.

The world’s largest maternity clinic opened in Zelenograd
On April, 2, 2008 there took place a grand opening of a new maternity clinic in the 14th district. 40 thousand square meters  accommodate midwifery and gynecology departments that are going to seat 240 persons.

Zelenograd Archaeological Union

Zelenograd Archaeological Union celebrated its 30 th birthday. The Union specializations are study of stone age monuments and digging of old Slavic settlements in Moscow and Moscow region, Kaliningrad and Western Belarus. Nowadays the Union is working mainly in 2 fields: metal search and search for late middle age villages and settlements that disappeared after Polish-Lithuanian intervention (early 17 th century)

The Tripartite Agreement

The tripartite agreement on foundation of Moscow Business Center in Zelenograd twin-city Unterschleissheim (Bavaria, Germany) was signed by the head of Zelenograd Administrative District, Moscow Commerce and Industry Chamber and city of Unterschleissheim Administration in the Prefecture of Zelenograd.

50th Anniversary of Zelenograd

The 3rd of March, 1958 is considered to be the birthday of Zelenograd. On this day the Council of Ministers of the USSR adopted the resolution on building city satellite of Moscow in the region of the station Krukovo belonged to the Octyabrskaya railway. Intensive city  construction works started in 1962. In order to establish a complex microelectronics center in 1962 the city was transferred under authority of the State Committee on Electronic Engineering .

Tulsa delegation

Zelenograd prefect A.Smirnov welcomed delegation from twin-city Tulsa (Oklahoma, the USA). The guests arrived to participate in celebration of Zelenograd semicentenary as well as to discuss the prospects of further cooperation in social and educational spheres, business and high technologies.

New sculpture installed within the framework of “Relax in the city” project.
There are new city sculptures of various genres emerging in Zelenograd in 2008. In February a sculpture of girl with a dog was installed in Kryukovo avenue zone in the 15th district. Sergey Matserev, a sculpture, is the author of the project.
