First Russian WAP-portal of government services established in Zelenograd
In late February, 2008 the first Russian WAP-portal of mobile government services http://zelao.mobi (mobile version wap.zelao.mobi) was established to provide a more convenient access to mobile services of Government executive bodies of the district.

Opening of New Maternity House

On April the 2 nd a new maternity house was opened in Zelenograd. Midwifery and gynecology departments for 240 beds occupy the area of 40 th. sq. meters. For comparison the old maternity house was equipped with 180 beds over the area of 12 th. sq. meters. All the old maternity house staff moved to the new building, P. Lesnyak remained at the head.

A happy journey, new department!
A new department of applied information technologies was opened in Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology (MIET). The department presentation was shown in December 2007, presently short-time preparation courses are available for school leavers seeking to study at this department.

The local consultative and diagnostic center on the basis of children’s local hospital in the 8th microdistrict celebrated 20th anniversary.

One of the squares of Zelenograd is named after the minister of electronic industry of USSR A. Shokin.
In accordance with the decree of Moscow Government the square between MIET university and JSC “Angstrem” is named after the minister of electronic industry of USSR A. Shokin.

On November, 3, 2009 children’s music school ¹ 53 named after M. P. Musorgskiy celebrated its 40th anniversary.

Opening of commemorative plaque to N. Zlobin
On November, 2, 2009 at 129 house there took place a grand opening of commemorative plaque to twice-awarded Hero of Socialist Labour, famous Zelenograd citizen and builder, contract services’ initiator Nikolay Anatol’yevich Zlobin.

October, 28, 2009 was the 100th birthday of founding father, electronic industry enthusiast, ex-minister of electronic industry of USSR A. Shokin.
Shokin Alexander Ivanovich (1909-1988) is one of the founders of Russian microelectronics. Minister of electronic industry of USSR(1965-1985).

GS ROSNANO and JSFC “Sistema” signed a contract on launching the production of microcircuits with design rules 90 nm at “Micron” factory.
The President of GS ROSNANO Anatoly Chubais and the Chairman of the board of directors of JSFC “Sistema” Vladimir Evtushenko signed an investment contract on launching a mass production of IC based on nanotechnology with design rules 90 nm on the wafers with diameter 200 mm.

Delegation from Shanghai visited Zelenograd
The official delegation of representatives from Shanghai Shentong Metro Co, a management company of Shanghai underground system, visited OJSC “RIME and Micron” in Zelenograd, a parent company of business line “Sitronics Microelectronics”. The aim of their visit is to get acquainted with the manufacture scheme of noncontact transport tickets (RFID) for transport companies.

Opening of “Architect” sculpture group
On March, 4, 2009 “Architect” sculpture group was unveiled in the 15th microdistrict avenue on the birthday of the main Zelenograd architect, director of PMT “Zelenogradprojekt”, USSR People’s Artist and Honoured Architect of Russia Igor Alexandrovich Pokrovskiy (1926-2002). Igor Alexandrovich served as a prototype for the composition.
